In honor of the Oscars, some of my personal favorites (most of which did not make the Oscars list)...
- Favorite movie when I was a kid: Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and Little Mermaid were all favorites, and still are!
- Favorite movie when I was in high school: The Cutting Edge (I own both the VHS and DVD version of this film)
- Favorite movies now: Pride & Prejudice (the new version), Love Actually, Love Comes Softly, The Christmas Card, The Magic of Ordinary Days (Hallmark Hall of Fame), Live Free or Die Hard (I had to get at least one action flick in here!)
Hard to guess that I'm a romantic at heart, huh?

Tooooooooe...Piiiiiiicckk!
My favorite movies (a few off the top of my head): O Brother Where Art Thou, Steel Magnolias, Airplane, Tombstone, Talladega Nights
Ah, a fellow Cutting Edge fan!! I even love the music from that movie (and should have also mentioned that I own the soundtrack). heeheehee
See, you have a much more diverse movie list. I also like Steel Magnolias and think I need to add Tombstone to my Netflix queue.
I love it that you gave out your own "Oscars" on your blog. :) Funny - it seems like when you ask people what their favorite movies are that are near and dear to their hearts, they are very rarely movies from the stuffy Oscar contenders list.
And I LOVE Tombstone. You must go out and rent it immediately! It has some romance in it, along with all the gunpowder. ;-)
@Davina--romance and gunpowder, a perfect combination!
